Advice from Students

Here is a great list of advice that students have for substitute teachers:

1. Be fair to everyone.
2. Give us our assignment and let us go to work.
3. If I raise my hand, don’t ignore me.
4. Leave your personal life at home.
5. You can be both strict and nice.
6. Punish only the troublemakers.
7. Speak quietly and be patient.
8. Be reasonable in your expectations.
9. Follow through with promises and consequences.
10. Have a sense of humor.
