Making a good impression on the permanent teacher is actually quite simple: just follow the lesson plan!
Whenever we talk to school district personnel or permanent teachers, their number one complaint is that their substitute teachers stray from the lesson plan or do not follow it at all.
Teachers who take the time to write lesson plans for their absences have specific objectives they need their students to meet. By not following the lesson plans, it is a disservice to the students and will require more work for the permanent teacher upon their return.
